AUS vs WI: West Indies team bowled out for 27 runs in reply to 204 runs, Kangaroos win by 176 runs in the third Test

Australia has created history in Kingston, Jamaica. They bowled out West Indies' second innings for 27 runs, the second lowest score in Test history. The Windies were chasing a target of 204 runs. With this, the Kangaroos won the match by 176 runs. This was a day-night (pink ball) Test match. Australia whitewashed the West Indies 3-0 in the three-match Test series. Australia won the first Test by 159 runs and the second by 133. Mitchell Starc received the Player of the Match award in the third Test. He was also selected as the Player of the Series. At the same time, Boland made the Test more exciting by taking a hat-trick. He sent Greaves, Shamar, and Warrican to the pavilion on the first, second, and third balls of the 14th over in the West Indies' second innings.

 

Australia-West Indies first innings

 

Australia scored 225 runs in the first innings. Cameron Green scored 46 runs and Steve Smith scored 48 runs. Apart from this, no batsman was able to score 25+. Shamar Joseph took four wickets for the West Indies, while Jaden Seals and Justin Greaves got three wickets each. In reply, the West Indies' first innings were bowled out for 143 runs. John Campbell scored the highest 36 runs. Apart from this, Shai Hope played an innings of 23 runs. Scott Boland took three wickets for Australia. At the same time, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins got two wickets each. Mitchell Starc and Beau Webster took one wicket each. Based on the first innings, Australia had a lead of 82 runs in the second innings.

Australia's second innings were bowled out for 121 runs. Cameron Green scored the highest 42 runs. At the same time, Sam Constas and Alex Carey could not open the account. Khawaja was dismissed after scoring 14, Steve Smith five runs, Travis Head 16 runs, and Webster 13 runs. Cummins scored five, Starc 11, Boland one, and Hazelwood four runs. For the West Indies, Alzari Joseph took five wickets and Shamar Joseph took four wickets.

 

10 West Indies batsmen could not touch the double-digit mark

Chasing the target of 204 runs, the West Indies team was reduced to 27 runs in 14.3 overs. 10 batsmen could not touch the double-digit mark. Out of these, seven batsmen could not even open an account. The batsmen who could not open the account include John Campbell, Kevelon Anderson, Brandon King, captain Roston Chase, Shamar Joseph, Jomel Warrican, and Jaden Seals. Michael Lewis was dismissed after scoring four runs, and Shai Hope two runs. Alzari remained unbeaten after scoring four runs. Justin Greaves scored the most runs for the team. He was the only batsman to cross the double-digit mark. Greaves scored 11 runs.

 

Starc took three wickets in the very first over of the innings. He dismissed Campbell, Anderson, and King on the first, fifth, and last balls. Starc took six wickets for Australia, while Boland got three wickets. Hazelwood got one wicket. This was Starc's 100th Test match. He made this special. He became the Player of the Match and Player of the Series in his 100th Test.
