Patna, March 29 (IANS) More than 315 violations of the model code of conduct by candidates and political parties have been registered in Bihar till date, an official said Saturday.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer R. Lakshmanan said candidates from all political parties have been found violating the model code during campaigning for the Lok Sabha poll. So far, 315 cases of violation have been registered since the model code came into force.
These include defacement of public property, misuse of vehicles, illegal meetings and not following the provisions of the Loudspeaker Act.
"We have directed the officials concerned in all the 40 parliamentary constituencies of the state to act tough against those found violating the model code of conduct and register case against them," Lakshmanan said.
