PAK vs BAN: Pakistan can't help but be laughed at, there's no excuse for this foolishness against Bangladesh

The Pakistan cricket team has a history of poor fielding. Now it's safe to say that the team can't help but be ridiculed.

On Thursday, in the Super Four round of the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan once again found themselves the target of trolling for their poor fielding against Bangladesh.

This incident occurred in the fifth over of Bangladesh's innings. Shaheen Afridi's bowling was bowled by Tauhid Hridoy, who played a shot towards backward point. Sam Ayub dived and performed a brilliant fielding performance. He noticed that the non-striker had covered more than half the distance of the pitch.

Ayub threw, but no player was present at the non-striker's end to provide backup. In cricket, it's considered a basic rule that if someone throws, the other fielder reaches that end and catches the ball. This mistake by Pakistan was widely mocked on social media.

The hit was so bad that when the mid-on fielder came to catch the ball, he dived and tried to throw it, but by then the batsman had already reached the non-striker's end. Due to this lack of basic cricket, the Pakistan team became a laughing stock and was widely ridiculed on social media.

Bangladesh failed to capitalize.

Saif Hasan did get a lifeline, but he couldn't capitalize. He was dismissed by Haris Rauf in the next over.

Bangladesh failed to show any strength in the match and was eliminated from the tournament after losing by 11 runs. Pakistan advanced to the final of the Asia Cup 2025, where they will face arch-rivals India.

It's worth noting that the Indian team defeated Pakistan twice in one-sided fashion in the current tournament. The two teams first met in the league stage, where India won by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare.

The two teams then met in the Super 4 round. Suryakumar Yadav-led India won the match by six wickets with seven balls to spare. This marks the first time in 41 years that India and Pakistan will face each other in the final of the Asia Cup.
