Hindi cinema superstar Sanjay Dutt is currently making headlines in connection with the film Dhurandhar 2. His portrayal of SP Chaudhary Aslam in this spy thriller is garnering widespread acclaim. Amidst the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Sanjay’s next upcoming film has officially been announced.

In this project, Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the role of a politician. Let’s take a closer look at the title of this upcoming political thriller and discover what special elements it has in store for the audience.

Sanjay Dutt to Star in Aakhri Sawaal

The makers have officially announced Aakhri Sawaal (The Final Question)—a film produced by Nikhil Nanda, Dhanraj Nathwani, and Sanjay Dutt under the banners of Neem Tree Entertainment and Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures. Sanjay Dutt will play the lead role in the movie, and its release date has also been revealed; the film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 15, 2026.

In addition to Sanjay Dutt, Aakhri Sawaal will feature a stellar ensemble cast, including stars such as Mit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury, and Neetu Chandra.

Turning to the film’s storyline, Aakhri Sawaal promises to present audiences with the true story of the 100-year journey of the ‘Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’ (RSS)—one of India’s oldest and most cohesive organizations—which was founded in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. Thus, come May, audiences will get to experience the thrill of a political drama-thriller on the big screen.

A Film by a National Award-Winning Director

Aakhri Sawaal is directed by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Abhijit Mohan Warang. Warang made his directorial debut in 2021 with the Marathi drama Picasso, which earned him a ‘Special Mention’ at the 67th National Film Awards. It will now be interesting to see whether Warang can successfully replicate his filmmaking brilliance in Aakhri Sawaal alongside Sanjay Dutt.
