Jammu, Jan 25 (IANS) Pakistan Rangers Sunday targeted BSF positions on the international border in Jammu district.
"Pakistan Rangers targeted Jogwana post of the BSF in R.S. Pura sector of Jammu district today (Sunday) morning," a senior police officer told IANS here.
"Pakistan Rangers used small weapons and automatics to target the post. BSF retaliated effectively using similar calibre weapons."
"Firing exchange continued from 1 a.m. to 1.15 a.m," he added.
The ceasefire violation occurred on a day the Indian security forces are on maximum alert because the US President Barack Obama arrived on a three-day visit to India today (Sunday).
