New Delhi, March 20 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday condoled the death of Khushwant Singh, saying the renowned author had lived a "truly creative life".
"A gifted author, candid commentator and a dear friend. He lived a truly creative life," the prime minister said in a statement.
Khushwant Singh, an internationally renowned author and journalist, passed away here earlier Thursday. He was 99.
A Padma Vibhushan recipient, Khushwant Singh authored more than a dozen books, including "Train to Pakistan" and "Delhi".
