Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for a two-day visit to Poland on Wednesday morning. Before leaving for the Poland tour, PM Modi issued a statement saying, 'I am looking forward to meeting Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda. I will also meet the people of the Indian community present in Poland. From Poland, I will visit Ukraine and meet President Volodymyr Zelensky.'
First visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years
This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in the last 45 years. The statement said, 'The Prime Minister is visiting to commemorate the completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations with Poland. Poland is an important trading partner of India in Central Europe.'
PM Modi will also visit Ukraine
It is worth noting that PM Modi will go from Poland to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine. PM Modi said in his statement that he will talk to Zelensky about strengthening bilateral relations with Ukraine. He also said that we hope that peace and stability will be restored in Ukraine soon.
