Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat starting Thursday to lead the celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kevadia. The Prime Minister will visit Ekta Nagar in Kevadia on Thursday evening and flag off e-buses. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹1,140 crore. The Prime Minister will also release a special ₹150 commemorative coin and postage stamp to commemorate Sardar Patel's 150th birth anniversary.
On Friday, the Prime Minister will lay a wreath at the Statue of Unity, followed by the National Unity Day celebrations commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He will also interact with officer trainees of the 100th Common Foundation Course under Aarambh 7.0. According to an official statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the development work underway in Ekta Nagar aims to enhance the tourism experience, improve accessibility and connectivity in the area, and promote sustainable development initiatives. With a total investment of over ₹1,140 crore, these projects reflect the government's vision to promote eco-tourism, green mobility, smart infrastructure, and tribal development in the area surrounding the world's tallest statue. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla, the Hospitality District (Phase 1) in Garudeshwar, the Vaman Vriksha Vatika, the Satpura Protection Wall, the e-bus charging depot and 25 electric buses, the Narmada Ghat Extension, the Kaushalya Path, the walkway from Ekta Dwar to Shrestha Bharat Bhavan (Phase 2), the Smart Bus Stop (Phase 2), the Dam Replica Fountain, and the GSEC Quarters. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Museum of the Princely States of India, the Veer Balak Udyan, the Sports Complex, the Rainforest Project, the Jetty Development near Shoolpaneshwar Ghat, and the Travelators at the Statue of Unity.
PM Modi will also take the salute at the Unity Parade. PM Modi will administer the Unity Day pledge and review the Unity Parade. The parade will include contingents from the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, along with various state police forces. This year's highlights include the BSF marching contingent with the Indian breed Rampur Hounds and Mudhol Hounds, the Gujarat Police Mounted Contingent, the Assam Police Motorcycle Daredevil Show, and the BSF Camel Contingent and Camel Mounted Band. The parade will also honor five Shaurya Chakra awardees from the CRPF and 16 Gallantry Medal winners from the BSF, who displayed exceptional courage in anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand and counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
