NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu is leaving for Delhi from Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar today. She will file her nomination on Friday.

Itisree, the daughter of future President Draupadi Murmu, told the media at the Bhubaneswar airport that her mother is going to become the President, it looks unbelievable. Itishree, working in a bank in Odisha, said that we had never imagined that this could happen. We still can't believe that this is going to happen. Itishree said that even the mother did not believe this.

How strong is NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu

The ruling NDA at the Center currently has a total of 5,26,420 votes for the presidential election. Murmu needs 5,39,420 votes to win. Now if we look at the electoral equations, Murmu is directly getting the support of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) due to his coming from Odisha. That is, 31000 votes of BJD will also fall in his favor. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already extended support to Draupadi Murmu. Apart from this, if YSR Congress also comes along then it will also have 43000 votes with them. Apart from this, it is difficult for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which is doing politics in the name of tribal, to oppose Murmu. If JMM comes under pressure, Murmu will get about 20000 more votes.

Sinha's edge is weak

Yashwant Sinha looks very weak in front of Draupadi Murmu. Despite being a unanimous opposition candidate, he currently has 3,70,709 votes. However, it will also be interesting to see how long the opposition unity can last in front of the NDA.

Understand the complete math here

NDA - Total Votes : 5,26,420

Required to win: 5,39,420

With the support of BJD (31,000 votes) and YSR Congress (43,000 votes), NDA's position: 6,00,420

It is difficult for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which is doing politics in the name of tribal, to oppose Murmu. If JMM comes under pressure, Murmu will get about 20000 more votes. Now even leaving the JMM, the NDA has more than six lakh votes.

Opposition: Sinha far behind

The opposition has about 3,70,709 votes.

UPA : 2,59,000

TMC : 58,000

SP : 28,688

Left: 25,000 votes

It will be interesting to see whether the unity in the opposition remains after the NDA fielded tribal women candidates.

According to NCP chief Sharad Pawar, opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha will file his nomination on June 27. According to sources, NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu may file a nomination on June 24. The presidential election will be held on 18 July. The counting of votes will take place on July 21. The enrollment process has started. The last date is June 29.
