Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated 35 PSA Oxygen Plants established from PM Cares Fund in eight Union Territories of the country in 27 states of the country from the pilgrimage town of Ganga in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said that India has achieved a big target in the field of medical oxygen production. In the future, we will become a capable nation concerning medical oxygen.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Thursday. He inaugurated the PSA Oxygen Plant set up from the PM Cares Fund from here by remote pressing. Addressing the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he has a deep connection with Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. This Devbhoomi worked to change the course of his life. With this land, I have a relationship with Marma, Karma, Sattva, and Tattva. He said that Uttarakhand was formed in the year 2000, only a few months after that, with the blessings of Devbhoomi and Baba Kedar, he got an opportunity to serve as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Today this journey of service has entered its 21st year. On this occasion, he is in Devbhoomi, nothing can be more fortunate than this. He said that dealing with the worldwide corona epidemic was a big challenge for India.

Apart from the population, the geographical location here stood as a challenge. But the government, working with determination, overcame this challenge. We have shown a way to the whole world by running the biggest vaccination campaign through the COVID-19 portal. Till now 93 crores have been invested daily, soon we will cross the 100 crores mark. He said that in the field of oxygen supply, where we used to produce only 900 metric tonnes of medical oxygen, we have set an example in front of the world by increasing this unimaginable target 10 times.

He said that the maximum production of oxygen in India was in eastern India. Whereas, it was most needed in North and West India. In such a situation, supplying oxygen from the east to the northwest was a challenging goal. Apart from oxygen tankers, the government solved this challenge with the help of special trains and the Air Force. With the help of DRDO, new plants were built for oxygen production and today every district of the country has become self-sufficient for oxygen production.

India fought the corona epidemic fiercely

On this occasion, Union Minister for Family Welfare and Health Mansukh Mandaviya also addressed the program. He said that the global pandemic Corona had come as a challenge for the whole world, India fought it resolutely. When the world started to make a vaccine for an effective war with Corona, then India relied on its scientists. By encouraging them, the indigenous vaccine was manufactured in the country itself. Not only this, keeping the spirit of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam in India, he worked to give the vaccine to 120 countries of the world.
