In Ludhiana, the water of the Sutlej River is causing damage to the Sasrali area of the city. Dhussi dam has broken in Sasrali village of Ludhiana. Due to this, the water of the Sutlej River has started entering the area. Late at night, an announcement was made from the Gurudwara, and people of 15 villages were alerted. People were told to migrate to safer places with their children and animals.
According to the information, by Friday evening, a large part of the Dhussi dam had been washed away by water. The district administration has issued a red alert in the Sasrali area. Efforts were being made to strengthen the Dhussi dam. Apart from this, the administration had started building another dam at a distance of 700 meters. At night, the water broke the Dhussi dam and reached near the dam built ahead.
The administration issued an advisory to the people.
The cracks in the Dhussi dam built in Sasrali were repaired on Wednesday, but the flow of water was continuously washing away soil from below. People remained standing on the banks of the dam till late at night. After this, the administration issued an advisory that the dam of Sasrali is under severe pressure. Due to this, water can also come in Sasrali, Boont, Rawat, Hawas, Seeda, Boothbarh, Mangali, Tanda, Dheri, Khwajke, Khasi Khurd, Mangali Kadar, Mattewada, Mangat, and Meharban areas.
The administration has advised people to go to the stay homes built at Rahon Road, Chandigarh Road, Tibba Road, Kailash Nagar, Village Sasrali, Khali Kalan Mandi, Khali Kalan School, Bhukhari School, Mattewada School, Mattewada Mandi, and other places.

The youth of Sasrali and the surrounding villages remained on the dam and kept guard all night. As soon as it was morning, the Punjab Police and Army, seeing the condition of the dam, forbade the common people from going to the dam.
After this, the army started strengthening the dam. People have also started building a dam in Mangat Colony. DC Himanshu Jain said that there are three points in Sasrali. The situation is bad at one. Work is going on there. He appealed to the public not to panic due to fake news of the dam breaking on social media.
