Supreme Court: ...So should we increase the number of cats?
Responding to this argument, Justice Sandeep Mehta commented, "Is there a connection between the two? We should promote cats because they are the enemies of rats." The Supreme Court further commented that it had not directed the removal of every stray dog from the streets. They should be dealt with according to the rules.

The hearing on the stray dog issue before a bench of Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and N.V. Anjaria was adjourned to Friday. The directions were only to remove them from institutional areas, as per the rules.
Hearing to continue tomorrow
During the hearing on Wednesday, senior advocate Kapil Sibal had argued that catching all the dogs is not the solution. To this, the Supreme Court commented that prevention is always better than cure. Sibal argued that it is not possible to keep all the dogs in shelters. It is not economically viable either.
