Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has left Hathras after meeting the family of the rape victim. Additional police forces were deployed in Boolgarhi village of Hathras for security. During the meeting with the victim's family for about an hour, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called the administration officer.

According to sources, the victim's family contacted Rahul Gandhi in July and told him that the promise of a job and house made by the UP government after the incident was not fulfilled. The victim's family has security. They say that they are imprisoned due to security.

 

Four-year-old case

 

After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's visit to Hathras, this issue has once again come into the headlines after four years. On 14 September 2020, a young woman was raped by some people in her village in Hathras and died during treatment. One of the accused was sentenced to life imprisonment in this case.

 

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi met the family on October 3, 2020, and declared that they would fight for justice for the deceased. She was cremated on the morning of October 30. Her family alleged that the local police forced them to perform the last rites in the dark of the night.

BJP has raised questions about the timing of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's visit to Hathras. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had met the families of five people killed in the Sambhal violence on November 24. BJP said that whether it is Sambhal or Hathras, he (Rahul Gandhi) keeps going there only to stay in the headlines, not for any other reason.
