Lucknow, April 26 (IANS) An FIR was lodged against yoga guru Baba Ramdev Saturday for making "vulgar comments" against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Friday, an official said.
The language and contents of what Ramdev said were in "bad taste" and amounted to demeaning a certain caste as well as a national leader, the official added.
Inspector Nagendra Choubey told IANS the case was filed for Baba Ramdev's comments against Rahul Gandhi at a guest house in the state capital.
Ramdev had Friday said in Lucknow: "He (Rahul Gandhi) goes to Dalits' house for honeymoon and picnic."
"Had he married a Dalit girl, then his luck could have clicked and he would have become the prime minister."
Several leaders slammed the yoga guru for his statements, following which Ramdev said his comments were being twisted to create confusion.
In a TV interview, Ramdev later said in case his remarks had hurt someone, he was withdrawing his comments.
