On the other hand, the US has imposed sanctions on 11 people, including Russia's top military officials, and 17 more by Japan. Japan will also freeze the assets of the banned people. Britain has decided to impose a 35 percent tariff on imports of metals, vodka (liquor) and fertilizers, etc., worth $ 1.2 billion from Russia, banning the export of luxury goods to Russia.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, CIA Director William Burns, White House Press Secretary Jane Psaki, National Security Assistant Jack Sullivan, Chief of Staff Mark Milley, etc. top US officials are also included in the sanctions list. . The ministry said, 'The ban list will be expanded in the coming days. This will include top US officials, military, lawmakers, businessmen, experts, and media persons who are suffering from Russophobia and hate Russia.

 

According to ANI, among those whom the US has imposed sanctions are Russian National Guard Director Viktor Zolotov, Military-Technical Cooperation Director Dmitry Shugeev, Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheev, Deputy Defense Ministers Alexei Krivoruchko, Timur Ivanov, Yunus-Bek Ivkurov, Dmitry Bulgakov, Yuri Sadovenko, Nikolay Pankov, Ruslan Tsalikov, and Gennady Zidko.

 

Announcement to provide arms to Ukraine

 

President Joe Biden announced on Monday that Ukraine would provide weapons. He said on Twitter that the US would accommodate Ukrainian refugees and provide Ukraine with money, food, and other humanitarian aid. Among the new people in Japan's list of sanctions are Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, 11 members of the lower house of parliament, and five members of the family of banker Yuri Kovalchuk.

 

Britain imposes tariffs on Russian goods

 

"Our new sanctions will take Russia out of global trade," Britain's finance minister Rishi Sunak said in a statement, according to Reuters. Britain has decided to impose a 35 percent tariff on imports from Russia, including iron, steel, fertilizers, wood, tires, railway containers, cement, copper, aluminum, silver, iron ore, oilseeds, and paper.

Heads of three EU countries visit Ukraine
