Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit Sambhal along with Congress MPs from Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday (December 4) at 10 am. Wayanad's new MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also be present with him. This information was given by the party's state president Ajay Rai on Tuesday (December 3). Before Rahul Gandhi's possible visit to Sambhal, the District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia wrote a letter to the police officers posted in the neighboring districts and urged them to stop Rahul Gandhi at the borders of their districts. On this, the Congress state president reacted to the District Magistrate's letter and said that this was the murder of democracy and open misuse of the police system.
Ajay Rai told PTI-Bhasha, "The delegation will include all six MPs of the party from Uttar Pradesh, which will be led by Rahul Gandhi. These will also include party general secretary and state in-charge Avinash Pandey." The state Congress president said that he will also go to Sambhal with Rahul Gandhi, MP from Rae Bareli. When asked if Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the party MP from Wayanad in Kerala, would also accompany her brother to Sambhal, Rai said that she could also go.
Clear instructions from Sambhal District Magistrate
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Pensia on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Police Commissioners of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad and the Superintendents of Police of Amroha and Bulandshahr districts, in which he urged them to stop Rahul Gandhi at the borders of their districts. The ban on entry of outsiders in Sambhal was ending on Saturday.
However, District Magistrate Pensia has extended it to December 10. District Magistrate Pensia has said that Section 163 (prohibitory orders) of the Indian Civil Security Code will remain in force in the district till December 31 to maintain peace. He said, "Till December 10, no outsider, social organization, or public representative can enter the district without permission from the competent authority."
Statement of Sambhal Superintendent of Police
When asked about Rahul Gandhi's visit to Sambhal, Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar told PTI-Bhasha on Tuesday, "Section 163 of BNSS is already in force in Sambhal. No one is allowed to come to Sambhal. If he comes, he will be given a notice."
