Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren shared an emotional post on the demise of his father and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's founding patron, Shibu Soren. On the social media platform 'X', Hemant wrote, 'I am going through the most difficult days of my life. Not only has my father's shadow gone from my head, but the pillar of Jharkhand's soul is gone. I did not just call him 'Baba'; he was my guide, the roots of my thoughts and the shadow of a forest, which protected thousands and lakhs of Jharkhandis from the heat and injustice.'
'Made me a struggler all my life'
He wrote, 'My Baba's beginning was very simple. Born in a small house in Nemra village, where there was poverty, hunger, but there was courage. He lost his father in childhood. The exploitation of the landlord gave him such a fire that made him a struggler all his life. I have seen him, plowing, sitting among the people, not just giving speeches; he lived the pain of the people.'
'Baba did not just show us the path, he taught us to walk'
Hemant wrote, 'When I used to ask him in childhood - Baba, why do people call you Dishom Guru? Then he would smile and say - because son, I just understood their pain and made their fight my own. That title was neither written in any book nor was it given by the Parliament; it came out of the hearts of the people of Jharkhand. 'Dishom' means society, 'Guru' means the one who shows the path. To be honest, Baba did not just show us the path; he taught us to walk.'
'No book can explain Baba's struggle'
He wrote, 'In childhood, I only saw him struggling, saw him competing with big people, I was afraid - but Baba was never afraid. He used to say - if standing against injustice is a crime, then I will be guilty again and again. No book can explain Baba's struggle. It was in his sweat, in his voice, and in the cracked heels covered by his slippers.'
'Never considered power as an achievement'
He further wrote, 'When Jharkhand state was formed, his dream came true, but he never considered power as an achievement. He said - This state is not a chair for me, it is the identity of my people. Today, Baba is not there, but his voice is echoing within me. Baba, I learned to fight from you, not to bow down. I learned to love Jharkhand from you without any selfishness.'
'You are on every footpath of Jharkhand'
Hemant wrote, 'Now you are not among us, but you are in every footpath of Jharkhand. You look in the beat of every mandar, in the soil of every field, in the eyes of every poor. The dream you saw is now my promise. I will not let Jharkhand bow down, I will not let your name be erased. Your struggle will not remain incomplete.'
'Now we have to follow in your footsteps'
He wrote, 'Baba, now you rest. You have fulfilled your duty. Now we have to follow in your footsteps. Jharkhand will remain indebted to you. I, your son, will keep your word. Veer Shibu Zindabad - Zindabad, Zindabad. Dishom Guru Amar Rahein. Jai Jharkhand, Jai Jai Jharkhand.'
