Shootout in Mexico: Gunmen opened fire on security forces; 9 criminals were killed, and 4 policemen also died

An encounter took place between the police and the drug mafia in Jalisco State, Mexico. In this 13 people died. An official said the encounter took place in the city of El Salto. 9 criminals and 4 police officers were killed.

 

Governor Enrique Alfaro confirmed the incident. He said- Police had received information that two people were kept hostage in a safe house. Weapons have also been hidden. After which the police reached for action.

 

So far 10 policemen have been killed in 2022

 

He said- criminals already present here started firing. In retaliation, the police killed 9 criminals. Among them was a woman. During this, 4 police officers were also killed. The police have also arrested some criminals. Weapons have been confiscated. He said that in 2022 so far 10 policemen have died in such incidents.

 

Army deployed to prevent criminal incidents

 

The area where the shootings took place in Mexico is haunted by the terror of drug dealers and gang wars. Violent clashes have taken place here for years between the police and the narcotics 'Jalisco New Generation Cartel' group. The government had deployed the army here in 2006 to wipe out the drug mafia. Since then more than 3 lakh people have lost their lives in these violent incidents.
