Sourav Ganguly Resign: Secretary Jay Shah has dismissed the news of Sourav Ganguly resigning as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Earlier there was news that the cricketer was leaving the post of president. However, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, putting an end to the speculation of resignation, clearly told the news agency that Ganguly has not resigned. Not long ago, Ganguly shared an emotional post on his official Twitter account.

 

In this post, he thanked the fans and fellow players for the journey so far. Along with this, Ganguly had sought the support of the people for the journey ahead.

The year 2022 is my 30th year in cricket. I started playing in 1992, and since then till today cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of my journey. Supported me and helped me reach where I am today. Today I am planning to start something which I think will probably help many people. I hope that you will remain with me in this new chapter of life.

Ganguly has scored 7212 runs in 188 innings of 113 Tests for India at an average of 42.17 and a strike rate of 51.25. During this, he has scored 35 fifties and 16 centuries. His highest score on the Test is 239 runs. He has scored 11363 runs in 311 ODIs for India at an average of 41.02 and a strike rate of 73.70. He has scored 72 half-centuries and 22 centuries in one-day matches. His highest score in ODIs is 183 runs. Apart from this, he has scored 1726 runs in 77 T20 matches at an average of 25.01 and a strike rate of 107.00. He has also scored 8 half-centuries in this format.
