Rebellion in Shiv Sena in the past: Shinde faction was ready to break the party if it did not go with BJP in 2014, Uddhav had to bow down

Eknath Shinde on Thursday released a video of 42 MLAs proving that he is now in command of the real Shiv Sena. After this, it is believed that the MLAs of the Shinde faction can separate from Mahavikas Aghadi and form the government with the Bharatiya Janata Party. This is not the first time that people of the Shinde faction are seen standing with BJP. A similar situation had arisen in the year 2014 as well and there was a revolt against Shiv Sena for going with the BJP and even then Uddhav was forced to obey the rebels.

In 2014, Uddhav had objections in the name of Fadnavis.

A former official who worked with former CM and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis said that in the 2014 elections, Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party had contested separately.

Shiv Sena got 63 seats and Bharatiya Janata Party got 122 seats. After the election, the BJP wanted to come to power again with the Shiv Sena, but the tussle was going on for the post of Chief Minister for two and a half years. Also, Uddhav had reservations about Fadnavis's name. They wanted to make Nitin Gadkari the CM of Maharashtra.

In 2014, 25 MLAs of the Shinde faction revolted

During the election campaign, a lot of mud was thrown against Fadnavis and BJP on behalf of Uddhav. Uddhav may not have wanted to go with Fadnavis, but there were about 25 such MLAs who were adamant about the decision to form the government with the BJP.

All these MLAs belonged to the Eknath Shinde faction. During that time, some MLAs had even spoken of separating from Shiv Sena in case of not forming the government with the BJP in the internal meeting of the party.

The equation changed with the entry of NCP

Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), playing a big card, announced outside support to the BJP to form the government in Maharashtra. During that time NCP leader Praful Patel had said, "There is a BJP government at the center as well, so here also the NCP is ready to support the BJP from outside for a stable government."

After the pressure of the party MLAs, saving the party from collapse, and the initiative of the NCP, Uddhav Thackeray finally had to bow down and he agreed to support the BJP.

Uddhav faction used to oppose BJP even after staying together

The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance formed the government in Maharashtra, but these two parties always remained in the headlines due to mutual quarrels. The leaders of the Uddhav faction were always aggressive against the political and economic policies of the BJP.

This was the reason why Shiv Sena was compared with the opposition party. Be it the decision of demonetization, the decision to bring the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, or the protest against the Aarey crash of the Mumbai Metro, Shiv Sena leaders of the Uddhav faction have appeared in opposition to the BJP many times. The government was also accused of corruption and caused political upheaval.

Uddhav Thackeray wanted to become CM even in 2014

Both BJP and Shiv Sena wanted more seats as both were confident of their victory. While the BJP was excited by the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the Shiv Sena said that the Modi wave is over. He has a great influence on the state.

The tussle between the two started in July 2014, when Shiv Sena's youth wing chief Aaditya Thackeray launched 'Mission 150'. The purpose of this mission was to make Uddhav Thackeray the Chief Minister. BJP did not like this thing and since then the tussle has continued.
