New Delhi, Vineet Sharan. In this era of Corona lockdown, most government schools have online classes. This is the first time that all schools and colleges have come together in online mode. Therefore teachers and students are facing many new challenges. At the same time, a lot of new experiences are also happening. Let us know from the teachers of different cities how they are teaching the students and what is their experience-
Interesting children's reactions
Anuj Kumar, a computer science teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lakhanpur, Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir, said that he started collecting mobile numbers of children from March 28. Talked to the children and asked how they would like to read. Started studies from 30 March. By then, orders had also come from the KV administration to take online classes. On April 2, the children's class started. Initially, I spoke lightly and then started studying.
Anuj Kumar has said that he teaches subject wise. Teach a subject in an hour class. Gaps of 10 to 15 minutes. Class runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children know the time of each class. All the teachers of the school, including Anuj, try to ensure that the children get the same atmosphere as the school. Class runs for six hours every day. Even after this, teachers remain attached to children. Generally teachers use DIKSHA, epathshala and Google drive app.
Use of experiences to assess children
According to Anuj Kumar, parents are also monitoring children, which makes it easier to teach online. For online classes they use Cisco WebEx Online Meetings, which supports more than 10 children. In Anuj Kumar's class, 15 to 16 children connect daily. Anuj said, we already know which child understands quickly and which child has difficulty in understanding. In such a situation, during online class, we also pay attention to such children, who have not understood the topic. At the same time, it is also understood from the answer of the assignment that the child understands the topic. Anuj Kumar asks children to focus on books and notebooks so that they can read offline better. At the same time, Anuj believes that there should also be a separate radio and dedicated TV channel for every class.
Keep in mind that low data cost of children
Yajnesh Yadav, a teacher of Unnao's Kendriya Vidyalaya (PGT CS), says that his school has been studying online since March 17. For this, a group is maintained on Telegram. It can accommodate up to 40 people at once. Children are taught by sharing screens. He also takes care that children have least internet data. For this, they keep the speaker on, but keep the video off. Children's mobile data is also recharged when needed. According to Yadav, they come online from 9.20 am. For children who do not come, they record and share the class.
Keeping children away from the negativity of corona is a priority
According to Yajnesh, if the children are studying at this time, then they also avoid the negativity of the corona in this sequence. Counseling of children is also necessary, as many children are afraid of this epidemic. Therefore, he has also asked the rest of the teachers to lead the children towards positivity. Tell the children that they will grow up and find a cure for diseases only. They are motivating children to stay indoors. They are telling them that the children will be called to school only after Karona is free. Tells children how many people have recovered from Corona. According to Yajnesh, there will be nothing special due to industry stagnation, but if children stop then our future will stop. He has asked the children to make an app at home so that they can do the exam online in future.
Advice and studies on how to avoid Corona
Anjani Srivastava, a teacher of former Secondary School, Barabanki, said that teachers already have contact numbers of children. Earlier, he used to talk to his parents at intervals of few weeks. After the lockdown, teachers and children were first added to the WhatsApp group. Now teachers and students start the day with the message of Good Morning. The teachers ask the children to pray and make them aware of the Covid-19 as well. Teachers prepare and send a voicemail of 5-5 minutes to study. Apart from this, home work is provided on WhatsApp itself. Children answer on WhatsApp itself. Education is done according to the syllabus.
Children are also made aware of hygiene. Children have been told that classes are conducted for children from 1 to 8 on radio at 11 am and DD Uttar Pradesh at 11.30 am. Children also watch these programs. Teachers have also put up banners for awareness of Covid-19 in the village. Teachers are connected with children throughout the day, so that they can contact whenever they get a chance.
