
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Germany, Denmark, and France from May 2 to 4. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this will be the first foreign visit of the Prime Minister this year. During this, PM Modi will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Denmark's PM Mette Frederiksen, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
On this foreign tour, PM Modi will talk with the heads of state of the three countries on strategic partnerships and global issues. Let us inform you that on this visit, apart from these 3 countries, the Prime Minister will also meet the heads of state of 4 other countries. The Prime Minister's last foreign visit was in September 2021, when he arrived in the US to attend the Quad Countries Summit.
Joint address of PM Modi and Chancellor Scholz in Berlin
PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin. Both the leaders will also attend the 6th ceremony of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC). The IGC is a bilateral dialogue format held every two years, in which ministers of both countries also participate. This is PM Modi's first IGC meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
During this, the Prime Minister and Chancellor Scholz will also address a joint business event. The Prime Minister will also address the Indian community in Germany. In the year 2021, India and Germany completed 70 years of diplomatic relations. The two countries have been each other's strategic partners for 200 years. During this visit, talks on regional and global issues will be held between the two countries.
2nd India-Nordic Summit in Denmark
After this PM Modi will visit Denmark. He is going there at the invitation of PM Mate Frederickson. The Prime Minister will also participate in the second India-Nordic Summit to be held in Copenhagen. During the visit, the Prime Minister will participate in the India-Denmark Business Forum and will also address the Indian community living there.
During the second India-Nordic Summit, the Prime Minister will also meet leaders of other Nordic countries. It will also include Iceland's Prime Minister Katrin Jacobsdottir, Norway's PM Jonas Gahr Store, Sweden's PM Magdalena Andersen, and Finland's PM Sanna Marin.
In this summit, issues like economic recovery, climate change, innovation-technology, renewable energy, and global security will be discussed after the corona epidemic. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the first India-Nordic Summit was held in the Swedish capital Stockholm in 2018.
75 years of diplomatic relations with France
During his return, PM Modi will stay in Paris on 4 May. There he will meet French President Emmanuel Macron. India and France have completed 75 years of diplomatic relations. The issue of strategic partnership will be discussed in this meeting of both the leaders.
The Prime Minister's visit comes just after the results of the presidential election in France. In recent times, France has emerged as an important partner for India's defense needs. PM Modi visited France in August 2019, where he participated in the G7 summit.
