In West Bengal, a case of stone pelting has once again come to the fore on the Vande Bharat train. This is the third incident of stone pelting on the train in a week. According to media reports, stones were pelted at the Vande Bharat C14 compartment near Barosai railway station. Due to this the glass of the windows has been broken. Due to this incident, the train had to be stopped at Bolpur station for a long time. Fortunately, no passenger was hurt in this stone pelting.
On December 30, PM Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat in Bengal. Four days later, on the night of January 2, stones were pelted at Vande Bharat in Malda. The stone-pelting took place near the Kumarganj railway station. The train had left from New Jalpaiguri, and while coming to Howrah, unknown people started pelting stones at the train near Malda station. Due to this the gate and window of coach C-13 got damaged.
Leader of Opposition in West Bengal and BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari had raised the demand for an NIA probe into the incident. After this, on January 3, there was stone pelting on the Howrah to New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat train at Kishanganj.
Eastern India got its first Vande Bharat train
PM Modi inaugurated the country's seventh Vande Bharat train on 30 December. This is Eastern India's first Vande Bharat train, which will run between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri.
