World Cup: There will be strict security arrangements in the inaugural match of World Cup 2023, 3,500 policemen will be deployed.

The opening match of the World Cup 2023 will be played between defending champions England and New Zealand on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Police said that tight security arrangements have been made and more than 3500 policemen and officers will be deployed.

 

Ahmedabad CP GS Malik told ANI, "The World Cup will start from October 5. The match will be played here between New Zealand and England. The police have made all preparations. More than 3,500 police forces will be deployed. This will include three additional commissioners, 13 DCP rank officers, and 18 ACPs, who will be used along with 500 home guards. Traffic diversion has been done, and information about which we shared on social media accounts. We also have 9 bomb disposal squads. Rapid response teams will also be there and several rescue operations will be underway at the spot.

 

Expecting an exciting match

An exciting match is expected between New Zealand and England on Thursday. The Kiwi team will try to avenge the last World Cup final. GS Malik said, “People should watch the match peacefully and not dispute or fight with each other. Food items and water bottles are not allowed inside the stadium. People can carry the national flags of their teams, but they should not be made of wood.

 

These players will not be seen in action

The teams of New Zealand and England will take the field without their key players. New Zealand will not be able to get the services of its captain Kane Williamson and fast bowler Tim Southee. Meanwhile, Ben Stokes will not participate in the match for England against New Zealand. Ben Stokes is struggling with a hip injury.
