To stop the second wave of Corona, the Supreme Court has asked the Center to reconsider the vaccine policy. The Center currently purchases 50% of the vaccine itself, the remaining 50% of the vaccine can be sold directly by the manufacturing company to states and private institutions. Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice L Nageswara Rao, and Justice S Ravindra Bhatt said on Sunday that they are harming the public's right to life, including the right to health, as provided in the constitution.

Supreme Court instructions on 3 issues

1. Lockdown

Consider imposing a lockdown to prevent center and state corona infections. The court is aware of the socio-economic consequences of the lockdown falling on the weaker sections. In such a situation, if lockdown is implemented to prevent infection, then care should be taken to meet the needs of this section first.

2. Treating Patients

Do not refuse to enroll the patient or give necessary medicines in the name of hospital local ID proof. In two weeks, the National Policy was formulated on the issue of admitted patients in the central hospitals. All states have to accept this policy.

3. Vaccination Policy

Negotiate prices from center vaccine manufacturers. He should buy the entire vaccine himself and then allot and distribute it to the states. The Center is asking states to negotiate prices with vaccine manufacturers. The Center argues that this will increase competition and private manufacturers will enter the market. This will also increase the production of the vaccine, but doing so will be harmful to the age group of 18-44 years. Bahujan, marginalized and weaker sections are also in this age group. It will not be possible for such people to pay the price of the vaccine.

2 days ago, the court said - private companies will not decide the distribution

On Friday, the Supreme Court reprimanded the central government for lack of oxygen and beds. The court had said - Private manufacturers will not decide who to vaccinate, how much. They should not be given their freedom. Why does the Center itself not buy all the vaccines, because it is in a better position to give the vaccine equally to the states.
