Significant news is emerging from the Canadian province of British Columbia. Ten people, including the attacker, were killed and several others were injured in a school shooting. Canadian police reported this on Tuesday. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the suspected attacker has been found dead. Police believe he shot himself. However, authorities are also investigating whether any other suspects were involved.

 

 

The shooting occurred in the small town of Tumbler Ridge, with a population of approximately 2,400. Police have urged residents to stay indoors and stay safe. Additional police forces have been dispatched from surrounding areas.

Security Enhanced at Schools

The Peace River South School District reported that Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and Tumbler Ridge Elementary School have been placed on full lockdown, and security has been increased. Tumbler Ridge Secondary School has approximately 175 students in grades 7 through 12.

 

 

Heavy security and medical assistance

Peace River South MLA Larry Neufeld said additional police and ambulance teams have been dispatched following the incident. He declined to share further details for security reasons. He urged community members searching for their loved ones to please return home and let the police do their work. The Canadian Mounted Police will restore this beautiful town to safety.
