A tragic accident happened in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. During the Rath Yatra of the Upper Temple in Kalimedu, many people came in the grip of high voltage wires. 11 people have died due to electrocution. The accident happened when the Rath Yatra was being taken out in the early hours of Wednesday. Many devotees had come from nearby villages during the Rath Yatra. Police and eyewitnesses said the chariot was passing through a bend. Meanwhile, the people standing on the chariot came in the grip of a high voltage wire.
The chariot was completely damaged due to the impact of the current. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Relief and rescue work is on. Police are currently investigating the matter.
