The government claims the N440K strain not dangerous, but cases of infection rising due to this variant

Cases of corona infection in India are increasing steadily. Millions of infected patients are being found every day, while thousands are losing their lives due to infection. It was previously believed that a highly contagious variant of the first-found corona in Britain, known as B.1.1.7, is causing havoc in India. Then that, it was recently said that infection cases are increasing in Andhra Pradesh from Corona's N440K variant, but now Dr. K. K., head of Covid Command Center in Andhra Pradesh. s. Jawahar Reddy has stated that this variant of Corona was in vogue in December 2020 and January and February 2021.

 

 

He said that this variant caused a huge decline in infection in March and the N440K variant's share in the current positivity rate is minimal. Currently, B.1.617 and B.1 are the major variants found in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, which are very contagious.

 

Since the N440K variant of the Corona was discovered in Andhra Pradesh, it was named 'AP strain'. It was discovered by scientists at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and has been reported to be 15 times more infectious. Scientists said that due to Corona's N440K variant, people are getting sick within three to four days.

 

What is the B.1.617 variant of Corona?

 

The B.1.617 variant of Corona is also being called 'double mutant' and 'Indian strain', as it was first found in India. The World Health Organization recently stated that the B.1.617 variant contains mutants that make the virus more contagious and which can also evade the vaccine's immunity. The coronavirus variant named B.1.617 has been found in 17 countries in South Asia besides India.

 

However, the US Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci recently stated that preliminary evidence from lab studies suggests that covaxin developed by India is capable of neutralizing the B1.617 variant of the coronavirus.
