Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday criticized Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's new Brexit deal with the European Union. He said that it would be very difficult to vote for this in Parliament.

Let us tell you that Rishi Sunak on Sunday resolved to do everything possible on his behalf to solve the problems related to Brexit and make a new agreement with the European Union (EU). The settlement with the EU that is causing problems relates to the Northern Ireland Protocol. Rishi Sunak's predecessor Boris Johnson had agreed to that protocol.

'Voting in Parliament will be very difficult

The British Indian leader told the House of Commons that the new settlement is beyond all doubt and there is no doubt that we have now taken back control. However, Boris Johnson told a Global Soft Power Summit in London on Thursday that it would be very difficult for him to vote for it in Parliament. We should be clear about what is going on here, he said.

"I'm going to find it very difficult to vote myself because I believe we should have done something different," he said.

Boris Johnson said he hoped the new deal would work, but if it did not, the government should have the courage to reintroduce the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill he has drawn up.

He said the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill allows Britain to unilaterally change parts of the previous Brexit Protocol without the EU's permission. While the European Union claims that such a move violates international law.

Rishi Sunak had withdrawn the bill from Parliament

The bill was withdrawn from parliament after Rishi Sunak agreed on a new deal with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Windsor on Monday after months of detailed negotiations.
