It is 3 pm on Sunday and we are standing at the Inox Bokaro plant of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in Jharkhand. Liquid medical oxygen (LMO) is being prepared day and night here. Bokaro Steel Limited's captive plant is also making noisy machines. A rack has gone out of Uttar Pradesh to carry oxygen from here. It will reach Bokaro by 10 pm.

 

The captive oxygen plant has 90 BSL personnel. There are about 80 workers in the plant of M / s Inox. Continuous production is going on in three shifts of 8-8 hours. Seeing the workers' lunch box in front, we asked them just like that ... Have you eaten? The workers said - 150 tons of oxygen has to be made every day. Not even 100 tons have been made. Time is short. Will not eat food until 50 tonnes of oxygen is prepared.

 

Amarendu Prakash, director in charge of the steel plant, says the current situation is challenging. In the second wave of Corona, the oxygen demand also increased as patients complaining of lower oxygen levels increased in hospitals. This led to a shortage of oxygen in most cities. The patients started breathing. At such a time, this unit of the cell has pledged to deliver oxygen to the country.

 

In Pithampur, Indore, a team of 100 people prepared an oxygen plant, which was ready in 90 days, after 11 days of hard work. Trial production has also started in this plant from Sunday night. After 24 hours of purity check, 40 tons of oxygen will be available daily from Tuesday. AKVN MD Rohan Saxena said that Karan Mittal's plant was closed for three years. Talked to them, it will take 3 months to start speaking. All the departments worked with coordination and necessary approvals were issued hand in hand. Also made the road to the plant. As a result - the plant started.

 

Mittal spent 40 lakh rupees on this. Oxygen meters were sourced from Mumbai and other machines from Ahmedabad. Duty officer and Naib Tehsildar Vinod Rathore said that the work was not stopped for even an hour. 3 engineers arrived from Ahmedabad to assist the plant in charge of Madan Aggarwal. Work on the plant started on 14 April. Moyra Saria provided mechanical hands and labor, other companies gave other materials and the plant was ready.

 

More than 400 tonnes of medical oxygen is being produced through 29 plants in Chhattisgarh right now. This is the first time production is being done at full capacity. Officials are saying that supplying liquid medical oxygen according to demand has become challenging. For the first time, oxygen is being reached to other states, methods such as the Green Corridor are being adopted. Industrial oxygen production has been suspended since March.

 

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has three oxygen plants. Whom Prax Air operates. Production has stopped from Plant-1. Plant-2 and 3 have a production capacity of 265 tonnes per day. Monitoring in oxygen-producing units has been intensified after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers on Thursday.

 

4 state governments and 2 central government officials have been deployed in BSP's oxygen plant itself. Those who are instructed to supply oxygen according to the states that are currently in agreement with the oxygen plant. There is a situation of disagreement between the Center and the state every day about the supply of oxygen. The management of the BSP has been refused to talk to the media about this.

 

For the first time, the Green Corridor is being constructed by the Transport Department to ensure that there is no obstruction during the transportation from the green corridor plant built for oxygen supply to the state border. The BSP management has opened the Main Gate as well as the Main Gate for evacuation of tankers from the plant.

 

Supply is being done in 9 states of the country

Oxygen is being supplied from both BSP oxygen plants in 9 states of the country. These include Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, UP, Odisha, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh.
