There was a long debate in the Supreme Court on the imperative of Covid vaccine, the government said - will answer on every aspect

There was a long debate in the Supreme Court today regarding the necessity of getting the corona vaccine in the country. Eminent lawyer Prashant Bhushan, arguing on behalf of the petitioner, even said that he has not got the vaccine. Bhushan argued that the government did not put any information about the safety of the vaccine in front of the people. There is also no evidence that healthy people need to apply it. In response, the government said that it has not made it mandatory to have the vaccine. A detailed reply will be given on Tuesday to all the arguments given by the petitioner.

 

A petition has been filed in the matter on behalf of Jacob Pulial, who was one of the technical advisors of the National Immunization Campaign. In this, it has been said that many states have made such rules, due to which it has become mandatory to get the corona vaccine. In these states, people who do not get the vaccine are being denied many types of government facilities.

 

The requirement of the vaccine has been abolished in many countries of the world. The High Court of New Zealand has given such a decision recently. Advocate Prashant Bhushan, appearing for the petitioner, cited a book by American lawyer Robert F Kennedy, Jr. He said that big pharmaceutical companies sometimes influence international and national policies for their benefit.

 

After hearing Bhushan's arguments for a while, the bench of Justices L Nageswara Rao and BR Gavai said, "Is the vaccine safe or not? It is a scientific subject. We are not experts in it." To this, Bhushan said, "Healthy people do not need the vaccine. In many reports, it has come to the fore that the coronavirus is not fatal for children. But now preparations are on to vaccinate them too."

 

Bhushan said that by vaccinating children, there may be a possibility of affecting their hearts. On this, Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, appearing for the Central Government, said that Bhushan is creating confusion by talking about estragonica and other vaccines. Covaxin will be given to children in India. It is completely safe. Prashant Bhushan also argued that if someone suffers any harm from the vaccine, then a simple system should be made to report it.

 

At the end of today's hearing, Aishwarya Bhati said that she will answer all aspects. The target of immunization of vaccinated individuals has been achieved up to 96 percent. Now it should not be interfered with. Bhati said in a funny tone that the petitioner's lawyer did not get the vaccine, but he is arguing in court by removing the mask. Everyone should leave here soon. Bhushan smiled and said that he also has a mild cold at this time. But this is not the cold that is being discussed here. Smiling on these things, the judges adjourned the hearing till Tuesday, March 8.
