Only a few hours are left for the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Counting of votes will start from 8 am on Tuesday (June 4), the Election Commission has completed all the preparations for this.
Security has been tightened across the country to prevent any untoward incident before the counting of votes. Before the counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections 2024, Delhi Police has made tight security arrangements in the most sensitive areas of the city.
Intensive patrolling and investigation campaign in the Connaught Place area
Security personnel of Delhi Police are doing intensive patrolling and investigation in the Connaught Place area. Apart from this, North-East Delhi District Police has increased security in the area in collaboration with paramilitary forces. Security personnel are doing intensive patrolling and investigation in Nand Nagri, Seelampur, Dayalpur, Sonia Vihar, and Bhajanpura areas of Delhi. At the same time, security has been increased at the counting center in Srinagar before the counting of votes.
Security increased at counting centers in Mumbai too
On the other hand, before the counting of votes, security was increased at the counting centers in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. SSP Ajay Singh of Uttarakhand's capital Dehradun inspected the security arrangements in the area ahead of the counting of votes late at night. He said, "Paramilitary forces have been deployed at the counting centers. No one will be allowed entry without a pass. All arrangements have been made as per the guidelines of the Election Commission."
