Pop Francis Death: Three days of state mourning in India in honor of Pope Francis, PM Modi, and other big personalities expressed grief.

Pope Francis, the first Latin American of the Roman Catholic Church, died on Monday morning i.e. Easter Monday after a long illness. He was 88 years old and was admitted for 38 days after suffering from double pneumonia this year.

 

Legends from all over the world have expressed grief over the death of Pope Francis. PM Narendra Modi also expressed grief. PM Modi said during this that the Pope had a special affection for Indians. Meanwhile, three days of state mourning has been announced in India on the death of the Pope.

 

Three days of state mourning in India

 

According to news agency ANI, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced three days of state mourning as a mark of respect on the death of Pope Francis. Three days of state mourning will be observed across India as a mark of respect for Pope Francis.

 

There will be two days of state mourning on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 and Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Apart from this, there will be one day of state mourning on the day of funeral. During the period of state mourning, the national flag will fly at half-mast on all buildings across India where the national flag is regularly flown, and there will be no official entertainment.

 

The Pope had a special affection for Indians: PM Modi.

Pope Francis will always be respected all over the world for his compassion, humility, and spiritual courage.

 

PM Modi said that he has always dedicated himself to Lord Christ. He has served the poor and the backward with great passion. He has been a ray of hope for people going through pain. I remember my meeting with him very fondly. His commitment to inclusive and holistic development has inspired me a lot. His affection towards Indians will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace.
