Kolkata, March 22 (IANS) Describing roti kapda aur makaan (food, dress and shelter) as the party's focus, the Trinamool Congress Saturday released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, promising electoral reforms, transparency and a corruption-free India.
Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee, who officially unveiled the document, attacked the the Congress, BJP and CPI-M, saying they have "lost their credibility".
"Roti, kapda and makaan is our focus. Our manifesto is for a dynamic India. Our manifesto is people-friendly, industry-friendly and agriculture-friendly," Banerjee told a media meet at her residence in south Kolkata's Kalighat.
Underscoring the urgent need for electoral reforms, she called for state funding of elections as a part of the fight against corruption.
The manifesto also called for judicial and administrative reforms.
"We believe that the fundamental values and traditions of India should be honoured. We have to work with the youth," she said.
The Trinamool manifesto was in two parts, one dealing with a "vision for India" and the other detailing the party's "vision for Bengal".
"From economy to external affairs, we have tried to give a blueprint of our policies," said Banerjee, adding it contains policies which the party would be able to implement if a "Trinamool Congress led government came to power".
