Uddhav said - By the end of April, there will be 12 lakh active cases of corona in Maharashtra, these demands from PM

Amidst the ever-increasing corona cases in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that there may be around 12 lakh active cases in the state by the end of April. He has said this by writing a letter to PM Modi. In this letter, the Chief Minister has also made many demands in front of the Center. Let me tell you that there are currently 5.64 lakh active cases in Maharashtra. This is about 88 percent more than in September last year.

 

The Chief Minister said, "As you know, there were 10.5 lakh active cases across the country during September 2020 (first wave peak). On the current situation it can be estimated that in the coming days, Ekle Maharashtra will have till April 30. There may be 11.9 lakh cases. " In Maharashtra, about 59,000 new cases of infection were reported on Wednesday.

 

Seeing the second wave of infection, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has imposed strict restrictions for 15 days. It is also being called a mini lockdown.

 

'Declare epidemic natural disaster'

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Uddhav Thackeray has requested the central government to consider declaring the Corona epidemic a natural disaster. Once an epidemic is declared a natural disaster, state governments will be able to use the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to provide financial assistance to the affected people. Each state requires the Centre's permission to use disaster response funds, as all state Disaster Management Acts have been created as part of the Central Disaster Management Act.

 

'oxygen supply'

CM Uddhav Thackeray also appealed to the Prime Minister to help meet the demand for the supply of 2,000 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) to Maharashtra. The state is currently manufacturing 1,200 MT of LMOs and demand is expected to reach 2,000 MT by the end of April.

In his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Thackeray also requested the Center to instruct the authorities to grant compulsory licenses as per Section 92 of the Indian Authorities Act 1970. The Chief Minister said that to facilitate production, export units will facilitate clearance.
