Lord Rami Ranger, a member of the House of Lords, called the Upper House of Britain, has strongly criticized the BBC for a news series attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Criticizing the BBC, Ranger has accused it of biased reporting. He tweeted, 'BBCNews you have caused a lot of pain to more than a billion Indians. This is an insult to the democratically elected Indian PM, Indian Police, and Judiciary.

BBC's reporting on Gujarat riots deserves condemnation

Rami Ranger said that we condemn the 2002 riots and loss of life, but the way BBC has done biased reporting deserves condemnation. Let us tell you that the British broadcaster BBC Two is now in the news for its two-part news series "India: The Modi Question". The BBC is being accused of biased coverage.

MP criticized the claims of the BBC

The MP claimed that the BBC, in its series, said that there is tension between Indian PM Narendra Modi and India's Muslim minority and sought to investigate claims of his role in the 2002 riots. The series purports to examine how Narendra Modi, while in office, has been subject to persistent allegations about his government's attitude towards India's Muslim population and implemented a series of controversial policies. It said that it would investigate how several decisions were taken after PM Modi won the 2019 elections to increase atrocities on Muslims, including "removal of special status guaranteed to Kashmir under Article 370" and "citizenship law, etc." is included.

People gave special advice to BBC

Hitting out at biased reporting, several people of Indian origin suggested the BBC run a series on the Bengal famine of 1943, which resulted in the deaths of around three million people due to malnutrition or disease.

focus on Britain

Meanwhile, another Twitter user advised BBC to focus on UK's problems as Britain has lagged behind India on almost every parameter. Recently, India overtook the United Kingdom to become the world's fifth-largest economy and is set to become the third-largest by the end of the decade.
