Russia fired more than 100 missiles on Ukraine late at night on 15th November i.e. Tuesday. Ukraine has also given a befitting reply to this. During this, two missiles are reported to have fallen in a village in Poland, Prajevodov, in which two people died. However, Russia has rejected the allegations of a missile attack on Poland.
Immediately after the incident, America called an emergency meeting of NATO countries. After this Biden said- Primary investigation has revealed that these missiles fell in Poland after retaliation by Ukrainian soldiers.
Why is any kind of attack on Poland dangerous for the world?
After two missiles fell in Poland on Tuesday, November 15, it seemed that the Ukraine-Russia war, which has been going on for the last 9 months, has now come to a dangerous turn. However, on 16 November Wednesday evening, the President of Poland said – 2 people were killed in the missile attack. It was an unfortunate accident, not a deliberate attack. Actually, till now Ukraine was like a buffer zone between NATO allies Poland and Russia, now Poland has become a waterfront. The reason for this is Poland's prime location in the world. Before proceeding, see Poland on the map below.
Three reasons for Poland becoming a warfront during the Russia-Ukraine war…
1. Last month, Russia signed a military agreement with Belarus, a country bordering Poland. Under this, Russian troops have been deployed in Belarus. Regarding this, Poland's Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau has said that the deployment of the Russian army some distance away from the capital Warsaw is a matter of concern for us.
2. Poland shares more than 600 kilometers of border with two countries, Ukraine and Belarus, as you can see in the map above. Russia has also installed its air defense system in Belarus, which covers large parts of Poland. Poland has lodged a protest saying it is dangerous for its security.
3. A large number of weapons are being sent to Ukraine through Poland. Because of this, Russia is going from front foot to back foot in the war. In such a situation, if Russia tries to attack Poland in any way, then 30 countries associated with NATO will jump into the war considering themselves as an attack. The result could turn into a nuclear war.
If Poland is attacked, all NATO countries will jump
Russia may have waged war on Ukraine for 9 months, but the attack on Poland will be heavy. Article 5 of the NATO Charter states that an external attack against any NATO country will be considered an attack against all allies. Article 5 was used by NATO for the first time after the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in the United States.
Poland has ordered an inquiry into the incident of the missile fall. After the final report is received, the decision taken by the Government of Poland will determine the course and direction of the war ahead.
Even in 1939, the Second World War started only after the attack on Poland.
It is a matter of 1 September 1939. Hitler's Nazi army invaded Poland. 16 days later, on 17 September 1939, Soviet Russia's army also attacked the other part of Poland. Soon Britain and France also declared war against Hitler's Nazi army. After this, the Second World War started.
On October 7, 1939, Poland was divided into two parts, one part of which was occupied by Germany and the other part by Soviet Russia. However, later the whole of Poland was occupied by Germany.
