UP: Ambedkar's statue damaged before Constitution Day, villagers jammed, PAC called amid tension

On Thursday night before Constitution Day in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was damaged by chaotic elements. When this information came to light on Friday morning, a situation of tension arose in the village. Angry villagers have blocked the Malhni-Chabilepur road.

 

 

Sadar SDM Himanshu Nagpal and CO Sadar Ranvijay Singh, who reached the spot after about an hour, assured to install a new statue. He also assured to take strict action against anti-social elements. Even after this, the villagers did not remove the jam from the road. PSC has been called on the spot.

 

 

According to the police, the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was installed for many years in Palamau Khurd village of Saraikhwaja police station area. Some villagers, who went out for a walk around 6 am on Friday, saw the damaged Ambedkar statue. Villagers reached on the information of the idol being damaged, who informed the police and district administration. Angry villagers blocked the Malhni and Chhabilepur roads.

 

On getting information about the incident, SDM Sadar Himanshu Nagpal, CO Sadar Ranvijay Singh, SHO Saraikhwaja, SHO Khetasarai reached the spot. On the demand of the villagers, the SDM talked about getting a new statue of Ambedkar installed by the evening. But, the villagers did not listen and blocked the Chhabelepur and Malhani roads with sticks and sticks. In this regard, the station in charge Devanand said that a person has been detained.
