The state government has estimated the rate of growth in state GDP (GSDP) at 19 percent in the financial year 2023-24. Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that before the year 2017, the unemployment rate in the state was 14.4 percent, which has now come down to about 4.2 percent.

This year the government has set a target of earning Rs 6 lakh 83 thousand 292 crores 74 lakh. In this, Rs 5 lakh 70 thousand 865 crores 66 lakh revenue receipts are estimated, while Rs 1 lakh 12 thousand 427 crores 08 lakh are capital receipts. At the same time, the government has decided to spend more than six lakh 90 thousand crore rupees this year. In this way, the UP government will have a total loss of more than six thousand 949 crores this year.
How much is the debt on the UP government?
In the year 2017-18, the UP government had a total debt of Rs 4.45 lakh crore. By 2020-21, this debt increased to Rs 5.65 lakh crore. In 2021-22, this figure of debt has increased to Rs 6.53 lakh crore. Which is a total of 34.2 percent of the state GDP.
What were the big announcements made in the budget?
An announcement has been made to give Rs 3600 crore to the students of the state for tablets and smartphones.
Rs 100 crore announced for Metro in Varanasi-Gorakhpur.
Rs 235 crore announced for Jhansi-Chitrakoot Link Expressway.
An expenditure of Rs 12,650 crore was announced on the health system.
Rs 25 crore was announced for the establishment of Pharma Parks in the state.
Under the objective of establishing one medical college in all the districts of the state, 14 new medical colleges will be established.
An arrangement of Rs 150 crore is proposed for the development of infrastructure facilities in the development area and city area of Lucknow development area and all the development authorities of the state and the development of rope-way service in Varanasi and other cities.
A budget arrangement of Rs 585 crore is proposed for the Kanpur Metro Rail Project in the financial year 2023-2024.
A budget arrangement of Rs 465 crore is proposed for the Agra Metro Rail Project.
The construction work of the Delhi-Ghaziabad Meerut Corridor Regional Rapid Transit System project is in progress. In the financial year 2023-2024, a provision of Rs 1306 crore is proposed.

In the event of accidental death and disability of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister's Accident Welfare Scheme is applicable from September 14, 2019. The definition of the farmer has been expanded under this scheme. Under the scheme, there is a provision to give a maximum of Rs 5 lakh in case of accidental death and disability. A budget provision of Rs 750 crore has been made for the scheme.
For the education of children of construction workers, Atal residential schools are under construction for 1000 boys and girls in each revenue circle for studies from class 06 to class 12. The operation of these schools is to be started in the coming session 2023-2024. A provision of Rs 63 crore for the residual construction work and about Rs 50 crore for the purchase of equipment etc. is proposed.
Under Matritva Shishu and Balika Madad Yojana, in case of institutional delivery of registered women laborers, there is a provision to give an amount equal to a minimum wage of three months and a medical bonus of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 6000 in a lump sum to the wives of registered male workers.
Rs 20,000 in a lump sum for the birth of a boy and Rs 25,000 in the form of a fixed deposit for the birth of a girl, which will be for 18 years, will be paid for nutritious food for a maximum of two newborns.
There is a provision to pay Rs 50,000 as a fixed deposit to girls disabled by birth, which will be for 18 years.
