Lucknow: On the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, there has been a unique beginning to double the income of farmers in UP. On one hand, farmers will get money in exchange for the residue. On the other hand, the problem of burning stubble will be overcome and environmental protection will also be possible. The trial of the state's first agricultural residue production plant in Bahraich has been completed and is going to start soon.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given instructions to the agriculture department to increase the income of farmers and reduce costs. On his initiative, a bio-production unit from agricultural wastes has been established in Risia, Bahraich in the state. For this, agricultural wastes are being purchased from thousands of farmers of the region by paying Rs. 150 to Rs. 2000 per ton of paddy straw, corn stalks, sugarcane leaves etc. Fuel briquette pellet manufactured from Agro Waste has been completed in the plant trial. So far, about 10 thousand quintals of crop residue, corn stalks, sugarcane leaves etc. have also been purchased from farmers. Apart from this, the firm has also received orders for the supply of pellets of 1000 tonnes per day from NTPC Unchahar. With the establishment of this unit, more than a hundred people have got regular employment either directly and indirectly. At the same time, farmers are getting extra income from stubble and agricultural crop residues.
APC Alok Sinha said that this is a small effort to double the income of the farmers, but this will give relief to the farmers from the problem of straw and will get money in return. To make pallets out of maximum agricultural residues in the state, units can be set up, for this, other people are also being motivated.
State government gives 10 years exemption on GST
Vipul Industries Managing Director Ram Ratan Aggarwal said that this is the first plant in the state, which is making fuel briquette palette from agricultural residues. The trial of the plant has been completed. NTPC has also been sent to trial by sending one hundred and six quintal fuel pellets. Electricity is being produced from this. A cost of three crore 10 lakh rupees has been incurred in the establishment of the plant. Two and a half percent of state GST has been exempted by the state government for 10 years. Also, a 25 percent grant on capital cost will be given by the government. They say that we are getting more orders from boilers at the beginning of the unit, due to which the unit is proposed to be expanded in two months. This will employ other people.
Pallets will also be made from agricultural residues in five other districts
Ram Ratan Aggarwal is also the president of the Biomass Briquettes Association Uttar Pradesh. He says that about two hundred units are working in the state, which are making bitrates from factory waste, which are being used in brick kilns, but this product cannot be burnt in boilers. So now they are being inspired to make briquettes from agricultural residues. A proposal has been made to set up a similar plant with two from Shahjahanpur, one from Pilibhit, one from Faizabad, one from Basti, and one from Gorakhpur, who are being trained on how to make pallets from agricultural residues, as this There is no loss if pellets are burnt by mixing with coal.
