Weather Update: Delhiites will get relief from the heat, forecast of rain today and tomorrow; IMD alert for these states

Weather Update Today: The rainy season has still not stopped in many parts of the country. At some places, there is strong sunshine and humid heat and at some places, it is still raining heavily. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Andaman and Nicobar Islands have received 20 cm of rainfall. Whereas, 15 cm rainfall has been recorded in Konni (Kerala) and Ditch Pale (Telangana).

 

IMD issued an alert for the next five days

Narajol (Gangetic West Bengal) and Banki (Odisha) also received 14 cm of rainfall. Given the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for fishermen for the next five days. There is a possibility of storm winds with speeds ranging from 45-55 km per hour to 65 km per hour near the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. IMD has warned people to be safe and not to go to the seashore.

 

Monsoon will remain active here from 4th to 8th September

According to the Meteorological Department, active Monsoon conditions are likely to continue over Peninsular India, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh during the next 5 days i.e. from 4 to 8 September. There is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in different areas of Odisha on 5th September. The IMD has urged people to avoid venturing into areas with kutcha and heavy water-logging.

 

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam today. Kerala and Mahe will also receive very heavy rainfall on September 5. 115.6 to 204.4 cm of rainfall can be recorded here. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana today. Whereas, the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on 5 and 6 September.

 

The weather took a turn in Uttarakhand, yellow alert in Himachal

The rainy season has stopped in Uttarakhand and the weather is also clear. However, it is partly cloudy in some places. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain with thunderstorms in Bageshwar of Kumaon and some other areas of Pithoragarh. At the same time, the weather is expected to remain clear in most areas of Garhwal including Doon. There is also a possibility of light and drizzle in some places.

 

Talking about Himachal Pradesh, the rainy season is still going on here. IMD has issued yellow alerts in seven districts of the state. Rains may continue in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Sirmaur, Solan, Shimla, and Mandi till September 8.

 

Temperature rises in Delhi-NCR, is there hope for rain?

Delhiites are facing the brunt of the heat in September. On September 4, the temperature in Delhi had crossed 40 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, on September 5 i.e. today its temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees. It is expected to be light and drizzle in the evening. At the same time, from September 6 the temperature can reach 35 degrees.
