Light rain and thundershowers may occur in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, and North India. There is a possibility of a dust storm in most parts. Dust storms will prevail in the capital Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. The heat will continue over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, South Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi. Heatwave conditions will continue over Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat as well.

From May 18, the temperature will start rising once again and it will reach 44 to 45 degrees around May 19 and 20. After this, the effect of Western Disturbance can be seen once again from May 21 and the temperature can reduce to 41 degrees.

People in Himachal Pradesh are likely to get relief from the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be thunderstorms and hailstorms in the state from Monday.
