Due to heavy rains on the mountains, the water level of rivers has increased in many states including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, there is a flood-like situation in Varanasi and Prayagraj of UP.
According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for heavy rain in many districts of UP, Bihar, MP, Uttarakhand, and Himachal today. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in many states of South India including Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will start from Uttarakhand to Tripura. In this rain, which will continue till September 3, Orange Yellow Alert has been issued in Interior Karnataka, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar East, and Central Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh including Himachal, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Orissa.
