Weather Update Today: Heavy rain from mountains to plains, havoc wreaked havoc in these states

Somewhere the weather has become pleasant due to the torrential rains that dominated the monsoon across the country, while natural calamities like thunderstorms, landslides, and floods have wreaked havoc. More than 20 states received rain in the last 24 hours. People are facing difficulties due to heavy rains in some states including Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

 

 

Rain continues in many states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, MP, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu, and Kashmir. Rain has become a disaster in many parts of Maharashtra. The streets of Mumbai are knee-deep in water. A red alert has been issued for two days of heavy rain for Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra. On the other hand, there is a red alert for Palghar, Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara even today. There is an orange alert in Mumbai and Thane till July 10. This means that there may be heavy rain in these areas.

 

Heavy rain alert in Uttarakhand and Himachal

 

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will receive very heavy rains on July 8 and 9.

 

In the next five days, there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in East Uttar Pradesh also.

 

Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan will see light to heavy rain at some places.

 

Lightning with isolated heavy rain is very likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.

 

A school bus overturned in water in Jamnagar

 

Heavy rains lashed many cities of Gujarat. A school bus in Jamnagar's Kalavad overturned after getting stuck in rainwater. People pulled out nine children, the driver, and two teachers from the bus.

 

17 died due to lightning in MP

 

In the last two days, 17 people were killed in separate incidents of lightning in different districts of Madhya Pradesh. Eight people died due to lightning in the Gwalior-Chambal division on Wednesday. At the same time, two women died in Bhind in the same way. In Chhatarpur, three people including a mother and son lost their lives, while 6 friends who were having a picnic in Sheopur were struck by lightning. Three of them died on the spot. Cloudbursts, floods, and landslides killed five people in Himachal's Kullu and Shimla on Wednesday. Here, two died in Bundi, two in Baran, and one in Bharatpur due to lightning in Rajasthan.
