While in India, the cases of corona are once again seen to be decreasing, in other countries of the world, they have become a cause of constant concern. America is at the forefront of these. At the same time, Hans Kluge, Director of Europe of the World Health Organization, believes that due to the Omicron variant, this epidemic has reached a new stage. Although he has also said that we are moving towards the end of this epidemic. Hans has said another very important thing that by the end of this year before the epidemic is completely over, it may once again gain momentum. In a conversation with AFP, Kluge has said that by March, up to 60 percent of people in Europe will be infected with Omicron. After this, the cases will be reduced here. Along with this, herd immunity will also develop in people.
On the other hand, if we talk about India, then from the United Nations to the World Health Organization at the global level, it has been said that in the third wave in India, a situation similar to the second wave can be seen. But at the moment it does not appear so. Professor Pragati Chhabra, director of community medicine at Delhi's University College of Medical Sciences, believes that January and February are very special and will mark the peak and decline of the pandemic in the country. She says that she also believes in the same trend. The way cases are coming out in the country, is also pointing in this direction.
The latest cases reported in the country show that this is no longer the case in the states which had a strong outbreak during the second wave of the pandemic. However, cases are increasing in some other states. Professor Chhabra, while responding to the statement of Hans Kluge, said that we will always have to be careful about it and follow the rules made for the prevention of corona.
He also said that there are many similarities between India and Africa. There the cases have come down. In the same way, cases of corona can also come down in India. Despite this, cases are also coming during this wave and patients have to be kept on oxygen. So the risk remains. But it is indeed much less than before and this time the risk of life is also being seen less.
On the increasing number of cases in America, he said that the negligence of the people there is very heavy. Apart from this, there are many differences between America and India, due to which cases have increased there. A major reason for the increase in cases in America is also the low speed of vaccination.
