Following Dhurandhar 2, Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first look of Ranbir Kapoor as ‘Rama’ in this film is set to be released on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

However, prior to this, the filmmakers recently unveiled the film’s teaser in Los Angeles. Ranbir was also present in LA during this event. Interestingly, the teaser has not yet been released in India. Now, despite it being an Indian film, Ranbir Kapoor’s fans are upset over the decision to prioritize a foreign location.

Sentiments Hurt

Recently, numerous internet users took to their respective Twitter handles to question the Ramayana filmmakers regarding their decision to release the teaser in Los Angeles before India. Some users allege that the producers of this Nitesh Tiwari directorial are solely interested in making money by marketing the film to NRIs, while others argue that this decision is insulting and has deeply hurt their sentiments.

Users Vent Anger on Social Media

One user wrote, “What is the problem with releasing it in India? This is an Indian film, so why wasn’t it shown in India first?” Another user commented, “All this drama is merely to generate hype within India… Ramayana is our story… why release it in another country first? The producers only care about money… what about the sentiments of our people?” Yet another user wrote, “So, the people who get to see this first are in Los Angeles, not India? Wow! At least the event in Varanasi took place in India!”

In the film, Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will be seen in the character of Goddess Sita. Additionally, KGF star Yash will appear as Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey will portray the roles of Hanuman and Lakshmana, respectively. The film is scheduled for release in October, coinciding with the festival of Diwali.
