One Nation One Election Before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the Central Government has raised the issue of 'One Nation, One Election' and has also taken steps to implement it. Recently, the government has constituted a committee for this under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind. Now a big update has come regarding the first meeting of this committee.
Former President and Committee Chairman Ramnath Kovind said that the first meeting of the 'One Nation One Election' committee is going to be held on September 23.
Amit Shah and Adhir Ranjan were included in the committee
Apart from the Chairman, 7 other people are also included in the election committee formed by the Central Government. This includes Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Ghulam Nabi Azad, NK Singh, Subhash Kashyap, Harish Salve, and Sanjay Kothari.
However, Adhir Ranjan has withdrawn his name from the committee. Adhir also raised questions on the intentions of the government and said that this committee has been formed to reach a predetermined conclusion and not to take any opinion.
Speculation to bring a bill in special session
There is also speculation regarding 'One Nation, One Election' that the government is discussing bringing a bill regarding this in the special session of Parliament starting on September 18.
