The Parliament of the Netherlands is going to implement the legal right to work from home. Last week the lower house of parliament passed a law related to this. Now the country is waiting for approval from the upper house i.e. Senate. Companies in the Netherlands can currently reject work-from-home requests of employees without giving reasons, but after this law, they will have to give reasons.
According to the report of the Wall Street Journal, Senna Mataug of the GroenLinks party said – the passing of this bill will help employees to make balance in life as well as save time spent on traveling. Mataug is one of those who prepared this bill.
Extension of the Flexible Working Act of 2015
The Flexible Working Act was introduced in the Parliament of the Netherlands in 2015. In this bill, employees can appeal for changes in working hours, schedules, and even the place of work. Now the bill being brought to be worked from is an extension of the 2015 bill.
