Realme 150W UltraDart Charging Technology has been introduced. It has been introduced with the Realme GT 2 series at MWC 2022. The company said that the new charging technology will debut later this year with the Realme GT Neo 3. Realme's ultra-fast charging technology has been claimed to give 0 to 50 percent charge in five minutes. Its offerings are claimed to be based primarily on three different technologies, namely a multi-boost charging pump, temperature management algorithm, and a new lithium battery.
Using its in-house update, Realme claimed that its new 150W UltraDart Charge delivers 50 percent charging in five minutes. Maintains 80 percent battery capacity even after maintaining the thermal temperature below 43°C and completing more than 1,000 charge cycles.
The new UltraDart charging architecture is also said to be the world's first architecture to support 100-200W charging power for smart devices. It uses multi-boost charging pumps to increase the charging speed, while the temperature management algorithm works with the hardware to maintain an ideal temperature during charging. The new charging technology also works with lithium batteries that come with a higher level of charging current to allow faster charging.
Realme showed off a demo to give a glimpse of the new charging technology during its MWC 2022 announcement. However, details are yet to be announced on when the Realme GT Neo 3 with 150W charging support will be available. The company teased its launch saying that the phone is "coming soon" in the market.
Apart from Realme, there are reports that its BBK Electronics subsidiary OnePlus is planning to bring its 150W charging-support phone this year. The move is in line with Xiaomi who earlier this year brought models including the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G with 120W fast charging. However, it is not clear at the moment whether 150W fast charging has been allowed by the regulators in the market including India at this time.
