Pakistan Crisis: Inflation hits the 'prodigal' neighbor, cylinder is available for 10 thousand, and the prices of chicken and roti are touching the sky

The economic situation is getting worse in Pakistan, a big-mouthed neighbor who has been threatening India with the atomic bomb. Amidst the ever-increasing shortage of foreign exchange reserves in the country, common Pakistanis are now unable to even buy essential items. People's purchasing power is continuously decreasing. The situation has reached such a point that the government has decided to close the markets early to save electricity and petroleum products. In the year 2020, the conditions of misery were seen in Sri Lanka, and the same situation is now happening in Pakistan as well.

# Inflation rate reached 24.5% in December

The Defense Minister of Pakistan has also accepted that the country is going through difficult times. There has also been a shortage of petrol-diesel, food items, cooking gas, and electricity. Inflation is skyrocketing in the country. According to the report released on Monday by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the CPI-based inflation rate in the country has increased to 24.5 percent in December 2022. It was 12.3 percent in the same period a year ago. According to the report, most of the essential goods are going away from the reach of the common people. According to media reports, the inflation rate is more than the target of 21 to 23 percent of the Ministry of Finance.

# 56 percent increase in the prices of food items

Food items have become costlier by more than a quarter in December alone. An increase of 55.93 percent has been recorded in the prices of essential food items. This situation is due to a shortfall in demand and supply. Onion prices have increased by 415 percent in the last year. At the same time, compared to last year, tea has become costlier by 64 percent and wheat by 58 percent. There has been an increase of 32 percent in the prices of ghee and edible oils. Whereas milk and rice have become costlier by 26% and 47% respectively.

# Chicken reached Rs 650 to 700 per kg

Inflation in Pakistan has also hit the prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, which have become costlier by almost 35 percent. While the prices of clothing and footwear have increased by 17.22 percent. The situation has become so bad in our bigoted neighboring country that chicken has started selling for up to Rs.650-700 per kg in Pakistan. According to experts, if the same situation continues, it can reach Rs 800 per kg in the coming days.

# One LPG cylinder is available for 10 thousand rupees

Talking about LPG gas, a commercial gas cylinder is available for 10000 Pakistani rupees. Under compulsion, people are using gas by filling it in plastic bags, taking the risk. Because of this, a large number of people are getting injured every day due to accidents related to it. Please tell that this situation is of the same Pakistan where politicians keep threatening India even with a nuclear bomb to show off. Now the situation is such that those leaders are not able to provide food grains to the people in their country properly.

Order to close markets and marriage halls early to save electricity

Cash-strapped Pakistan on Tuesday announced the early closure of markets and wedding halls to curb energy consumption. The cabinet has approved the National Energy Conservation Plan to curb power consumption and reduce dependence on imported oil. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said, "Markets will close at 8.30 pm, while marriage halls will close by 10.00 pm, this will save us Rs 60 billion".

# Production of bulbs and fans will also stop

Announcing the measures, he said that from February 1, the manufacture of bulbs with high power consumption would be stopped. He said that the production of fans with more power consumption will also be stopped from July. These measures will lead to further savings of Rs 22 billion.
